I was thinking about not providing my opinion because I was afraid that some people might get offended or have their feelings hurt with my words, but I think it is important (specially for the new practitioners) to learn the work that we do and how the universe work.I will try to list a few points here. Again, my intension is not to offend anyone in this forum.
1. I have read the different posts and I read lots of words of wisdom and compassion, but I also read words of ego, fear and selfishness. Those last three are characteristics that someone doing spiritual work must not have.
2. If we are concerned that a client exchange your years of experience, great reviews and great results for the words “FREE SESSIONS” in a profile of someone who just learned a modality and is trying to get practice sessions, is because we have not learned how the universe works.
This is not a competition, the clients that come to us are sent to us for a reason. If a client chooses a new practitioner because they want a free session, then it is not the client that the universe needs to send to you.3. I see suggestions to have new practitioners do practice sessions for forum members. Would this really work? Do you think that a new practitioner will feel comfortable doing a session on an experienced one? How comfortable would that be for them to make mistakes? How easy would someone that already knows hypnosis go into a trance? Would it be a real experience? Would it be the same as doing a session to someone with no knowledge of hypnosis and no expectations? I really don’t think so.
If we don’t let knew practitioners get practice sessions in this forum, then we are being selfish. Not only to them but to clients that cannot afford paying for sessions and need healing.4. It does not matter if client appreciates what you are giving them for free. We should feel rewarded knowing we did the right thing. Let the client decide what to do with the free session they just got. There are many benefits of doing free sessions while you are learning, or if you already know a modality. Here are a few:
* We are getting experience.
* We are getting exposure.
* We can ask clients to provide feedback in our profile.
* We can record the session and ask if they would share it in our YouTube channel.
* Word of mouth.
* We are doing what we came to do. Be at service of others (maybe to the ones that don’t have money)5. Should we ask for something in exchange for free sessions? That depends on each practitioner. I have personally never asked for anything in exchange, and yes, some people took advantage and did not appreciate it. But I know I did the right thing anyway. The universe always took care of it and sent money with other clients and in many other ways.
6. I have been practicing for hypnosis for a few years now, QHHT and Introspective Hypnosis (which I teach), and I don’t consider myself a veteran, a teacher of the backbone of any forum. We are all the same and we are all still learning and we will never stop learning. I have learned a lot from other practitioners that started before me, as well as from other that started after I did. We need to be humble if we are doing this kind of work and leave our ego behind.
Some can consider themselves backbones in their modality, but this forum has now many modalities. Then there is not really a backbone.7. I am totally in favor of free sessions, not only because it is a requirement for people that take my class, but because it is the right thing to do. For new practitioners to get experience and for people that are going through difficult times to get the help they need.
I will finish by saying that if we only think about money, that is the only thing we are going to get in return. If we remember what we came here to do and project our love, our energy, our intension to help others, we are going to get so much more in return. We are here to guide others, to help them remember who they are and what they came for. To give them a word of hope, to make them understand that they are not victims of their destiny, but that they chose these lessons themselves before they reincarnated. We have a beautiful mission.
Our compromise should not only be with our clients but with new practitioners coming onboard. To show them the correct way to do this work and to help them get the experience and wisdom they need.
Let’s make this community greater that what it already is. Soon there will be even more traffic and more clients thanks to the free sessions and thanks to doing the right thing for others.
