I was hoping to hear from others on this. I cannot assist with the technical questions but have a few thoughts and added a link below.
I do not use this service as a provider but I do have a couple subscription as a patron of a couple of other people’s services.
As a user I find the log in process clunky and often ridiculous to the point of not attending live events. I know others find this to be the case at times as well. Especially on mobile devices.
I will continue to support the people I support now -not because I like the patreon interface or service – but because that is the way I can support these people.

Note that some providers have been deplatformed for content (similar to other big giant platforms with seemingly political motives)
