I actually had reason to look MORE into Patreon since your posting asking questions of some others and I remain unimpressed. Especially since they have raised fees and added fan-based type products. I know that Patreon is a super great program for some people who have managed to make it work well for them, especially if they got in early before the fee structure change, and yay for them, but I think there are other solutions out there, looks like you found one that fits!
