My longest session was 6 hours though most are closer to 3 hours. I focus on asking the SC, “what is important about this scene” and “is there anything else we need to know about this scene?” That prevents getting caught up in a scene which has little or no importance to the client and their intention for the session. My interviews usually run for 30-45 minutes. If your interviews tend to be long, you might consider having them in a separate appointment from the actual session. That would at least break up the 9 hour stretch. I’ve seen that some practitioners set time limits on their sessions as Julia seems to. My fee doesn’t vary – it would be hard to tell a client that the fee would depend on the length of the session. I hope this helps.
