  • Directory Messages – Here's how they work (with pictures!)

    Hello Forum Family!

It seems like a pictorial instruction and Q&A on the Directory messages would be helpful for some, so here we go!

How do I know someone sent me a message?

The Directory will send you an email to whichever email account you have listed on your Contact Details notifying you that someone left a message. The notification will include the name of the potential client as well as the text of their message.

But why doesn’t that message include their email too?

That’s a privacy measure for clients. If you decline the message you don’t get their email.

But seriously, why can’t I have that potential clients email right off the bat, who cares if I decline the message, it’s just an email address, and they shared it anyway by messaging me!?

It may seem silly. But email addresses are one of the most valuable pieces of information in business today. Programs exist soley to collect them, you can purchase email lists for thousands of dollars, building email lists is big money. This platform was set up to protect everyone, you and your clients, by only sharing email addresses when both sides want to talk with each other.

I got an email saying I got a message, now what?
Login to your account at: https://www.quantumhealingpractitioners.com/login that will take you to your Dashboard. Then click the red “View Messages” button (you can also click Notifications on the left side, then manage messages which takes you to the same page:

Here’s what the screen will look like once you click it:

To see details about a message click View Details, here’s what will show up when you do that:

At this point you can either accept or decline the message by clicking the accept/decline messages buttons. If you click accept message here’s the next screen you will see:

Now you have access to your client’s email address.

Okay, now I have their email address…now what?
Email them like you normally would send any other email, from your own personal email account. There is no way for you to send emails from your Directory account. This is again for privacy. Your conversations with your clients are between them and you, if there was somehow someway to email them through the Directory (which there is not!) then it would mean the Directory’s admin (me) could read all your emails…which is not cool. So, with your email address in hand, email them from your own outside email account.

Whoa, why’s it show ‘message price’ do I have to pay to accept client’s messages?!?!
Nope. No paying for messages, actually other Directory services for healers do work this way, either by charging you for each potential client messages you accept, or by requiring a percentage of all delivered services. We don’t do that.

This Directory is based on a prebuilt platform that we have customized for our needs. I attempted to remove that line in the backend of the code, since of course we would never charge you to read your messages…but I ended up breaking the whole message retrieval system every time, so just ignore that line please. Maybe I will become knowledgeable enough to remove it at some point, but today is not that day.

How do I know my message notifications from the Directory won’t land in my spam folder?
You need to add this email address to your email address book: [email protected]
If any of our messages have been flagged as spam, please un-flag them, this will help teach your account that you actually want to see those emails.

Okay, but I want to check to make sure I’m getting my message notifications, how do I do that?
Go find yourself on the Directory, or click the red ‘view public profile’ that appears on every page of your account when you’re logged in. Then send yourself a message by clicking the giant teal ‘send email’ button right by your photo. Fill out the message and then watch your email account to be sure you’ve received it. (Or have a friend send you a message, or even better, have a former client leave you a recommendation since that too will trigger a notification email to you)

But I still have more questions you didn’t answer, and I need more help!
That’s cool, post a comment below, message me at @Directory_Admin or send an email to [email protected] and I’ll get you all fixed up.
