  • How would you introduce yourself and your business at a Networking group for them to share?….

Good Afternoon you wonderful forum of amazing energy workers.   I wanted to ask a question and get ideas for how to introduce my own self at a local networking group I happened upon this week.

Picture yourself attending a local meeting of networkers and it’s your turn to introduce yourself and what you do so others can share your opportunities with those they come in contact with, What do you stand up and say?!?!?!?!?  Keep in mind this is not a Metaphysical fair and many don’t even know what energy work is 😉

Oh I can’t wait to hear all about you all!

    xoxo

This is tricky haha! I’m very new to this so I Don’t really have an answer yet… but curious to see what others say! It is such a hard thing to explain to people who have absolutely no experience with or understanding of metaphysical / energy work, etc… I will admit I tend to stumble over myself trying to explain it to people without them just thinking I am a Looney haha! Still trying to figure out slightly better way to explain it that is easier for the regular Joe to understand and not instantly block it.

Are you making a presentation or just meet and greet individuals?

If it is individuals I would try to find out anything about them (are they a therapist? Florist? Teacher? Pharmacist? Clergy?) FIRST. LOL

I would likely use different words  phrases and references for each of these people. If I knew absolutely nothing about them, I would try to read their energy and I would watch their eyes as I started to reveal my work.

If it was a group introduction I would start with very basic easy to approach words and stay away from common triggers. Words like Counselor or Spiritual Counselor or Holistic Energy Practitioner or possibly Spiritual Therapist might work. Phrases that are easy to understand would follow “mind – body connection” “mindfulness” “visualization”

I do not have a prepared elevator speech that works for everyone, or all situations.

Is this too simple?  Or not appropriate for all audiences?  Or incorrect? – I help people get in touch with the part of themselves that is connected to the greater whole, to their personal connection with spirit, or the universe, or universal consciousness – You could call it various names – Then from that place they can gain understanding, guidance, or ask questions from this connection, this Source.  And in that space many incredicble and beautiful things can happen.

That could be followed with an example or two, or a little more explanation, or letting them know I don’t guide them anywhere on purpose, that I allow their Higher Self, or Inner Self to do so.

I am thinking on this a bit too.  Not quite ready to be “letting my freak flag fly” (to borrow words from a a David Crosby song).  I work in a hospital / clinic where the ‘out there’ stuff is mostly frowned upon.  And even though early-retiring soon so I can more fully operate my holistic business offering hypnotherapy (already pretty ‘out there’ for some people) and massage therapy to persons with cancer, not sure if I want BQH as one of my listed services.  Becuase it might be really ‘out there’ for many.  Or perhaps once I quit my RN job I will both grow my hair out again and fully let my freak flag fly, completely and unapoligetically. And perhaps attract just the people that can tolerate and appreciate and benefit from my brand of freakiness. Time will tell.

Curious about how you all manage the interface between your BQH and similar practices and other parts of your worlds.

Years ago it was quite common to hide the practice of quantum healing. So much so, people used fake names in their listings and even in communication with others in personal correspondence. Thankfully much of that has faded. Not completely, but a lot of it has gone away.

I feel compelled to notice that one needs to be very careful about energy mismatch. A concept I talk about a lot with BQH. If you as a quantum healer are hoping to assist a client uncover truths or become more authentic, more powerful with their own Source energy, then I would imagine living in your own truth and being authentic and allowing Source energy to shine from you, would be important.

Many of us have lived “hid in the woods” “burned at the stake” past lives. Probably most of us. I am done with that energy, but I understand the tendency to want to hide and be safe.  The creation of BQH and this Community is an attempt to dispel that paradigm and support others who are ready to shine.

@candace  Agree fully…Seeking complete energy harmony on all levels of myself and life, internal and external.   However…

The part of me that intereacts with the world, the part of me that needs enough monetary income so I can afford to both eat and be authentic…This part of me does have a little hesitation, worry.  I know who I am.  And luckily here in the US we are pretty free to have ideas and experiences and express them, live them. So not as much worried about being burned alive at the stake. But maybe worried I’ll be surrounded by a ring of hot coals that keeps others (jobs, customers) at too far a distance.  This may be a completely incorrect and unfounded presupposition. I’m still working through it.

I think it is okay to hide sometimes, especially in direct protection of personal or group authenticity.  Historically it has been necessary for certain groups, for girls wanting to be educated today in Afganistan, for Christians during the Roman Empire, for witches in the 15th and 16th centuries, for drinkers during prohibition…  Not sure yet for Brian, holistic business owner, serving persons with cancer in the Sacramento area and potentially dependent on referrals from the straight-laced medical community and local business networking events…

I think I can be authentically me and if needed hide enough so that I can keep my job just a little bit longer, then get clients enough to support my food, shelter, and basic needs.  I just don’t know if I need to hide at all yet.  That’s what I am working on finding out.

@candace and @Brian-bodylight-org, Thank you both for sharing your thoughts on here.

So I’ll try to explain a little better.  I have a few local networking groups that I have gone to last week and one more this week I will be attending. When they open the meeting everyone goes around stands up and introduces themselves, shares their business name and what all they do, they then sometimes end with a tag line.   So since I’ve had the opportunity to do this twice I found I’m trying to come up with the best way to describe what I do.  LOL.

Hi my name is Christina Brady, I’m currently doing energy work using a modality called Beyond Quantum Healing, which is a bit like hypnosis…

Since what I’m trying to gain at these meetings is more of an influence in my area I want to be very clear how I can help others in the community, so my introduction needs to be able to express this.

So what I was hoping members on here would do is share how they would introduce themselves.  I’m working on my introduction but thought as others shared theirs it would help me get ideas.  Meanwhile I’ve been searching through everyones websites to get a better feel for how others are describing who they are and what they do.

    Hello Christina!

This is how I go when I need to introduce myself to an audience that is not necessarily familiar with energy work & the quantum field.

“Hello, I am xxxx xxxx, I’m an energy healer and a quantum healing hypnosis practitioner. My work is all about helping individuals who have tried various modalities to heal themselves and still struggle despite their hard work. Explaining all that can be done through energy work could take us a long time, so to summarise – Who we are today is not only the consequence of our upraising in our family/society but also a consequence of all the lives we have lived. As we go along our path, we all experiment various types of traumas and if not dealt with accordingly, these can end up being stuck with us and following us along in other lives until we deal with them. These traumas, over time, show up either in our bodies through various forms of illness or through our behaviours with our emotions. Traveling through the quantum field, we give ourselves the opportunity to identify the source of our mental, physical or emotional pain and deal with it.”

Or something along those lines 🙂

I can understand it may sound a bit “woo woo” already for some, but I am now taking into account a couple of things:

    – It will resonate with those who are ready for this, no matter what words I use.

    – I’m noticing more and more people opening themselves up to some ‘magic’. And even if they don’t have the belief per se, their openness does have them intrigued and for some, gets them to ask questions. Asking questions is the beginning of the journey, isn’t it? 🙂

I hope this is helpful 🙂

    Much Love to all!

    Majda

Imagining myself in a room of miscellaneous local business people as you describe, I might say something like this. Maybe just the first sentence, depending on how much time is appropriate to take in that room:

“I do a kind of [spiritual] counselling where I guide people into a deep state of deep relaxation and focus in which they can access their own inner knowledge and wisdom. We look for the origins of problems they have, whether in this life or another life (if you believe in that), and clear them when possible, and find answers to the questions they have about their life. The answers and healing come through them; I’m just the facilitator. They leave with a broader understanding about their life and a stronger connection to that inner wisdom, which can be life-changing.”

This avoids words like “hypnosis”, “Past lives”, “God”, “Source”, “energy”, any claims about healing, etc. The word “spiritual” could be used, i.e. “spiritual counselling”; it might weed out a few people and might affect religious folks in different ways, but also places it outside the realm of psychotherapy and other regulated professions.

@info-conscious-evolutiongmail-com and @heather-holm, Thank you both for your additions. I am definitely going through them all and gleaning all that resonates.   Majda, I love what you said about this work resonating with those that are ready, that is so true.

My hope is I explain in a way for them to be able to spread the word of what I do with those they come in contact with because this is a networking group after all.   😉    I do feel I personally want to make sure they know up front that I don’t heal people but that I facilitate a others on a self healing journey!

Much thanks to you all, I deeply appreciate everyone’s advice here!

Mine came to me after reading this feed because I will need to do this at some point!

    Looking for kind, compassionate feedback:

I assist individuals in shedding the neurological, biological and psychological programming that no longer serves them, by guiding them into deep relaxation, where they can access their own inner wisdom.

    or

I assist individuals in shedding old mindsets that no longer serve them, by guiding them into deep relaxation, where they can access their own inner wisdom.

One of the two could work in a variety of networking events. Thoughts?

    Hi @christinabrady

Curious to know if you’ve settled on an introduction for yourself a year later? 🙂

    Kristina.
