I Took Part In A Local Metaphysical Fair
This weekend I took part in my town’s local healing arts fair, and I wanted to share my experience and what I’ve learned from my first public event.
The event is held twice a year in the spring and fall and is hosted by a local crystal shop, and has been running for a few years now. I’ve gone to the fair for the last three years as a guest that I’ve lived here, so naturally it was a goal of mine to take part in it to promote my quantum healing work.
My booth was $100 for an information only booth, it’s one day from 10-5pm. I opted to make a poster board to provide information and created a flyer and had business cards on hand to offer as takeaways. I don’t remember how much my poster board was, but it probably cost under $15 to put together. I printed out 100 flyers for $53 and 100 business cards for $21 from VistaPrint.
I had a friend join me (who is also a client) to keep me company. My fear was that I would be sitting there alone all day and killing time on my phone. That only partially happened lol.
I made a post on my instagram and TikTok accounts to advertise the day before. I have a tiny following on instagram with some local people, and on TikTok I doubt any of my followers are in the area. The fair was also not heavily advertised on their social media. One of the other vendors, another crystal shop, did a little more advertising however.
The fair wasn’t so busy, there was a steady stream of people during 12-2pm. People did stop to read my board and took my flyer and business card. Maybe a handful of people had questions, and I got a few compliments on my board, and three expressed interest in scheduling a session.
The demographics of the fair were on the older side, which may not have worked in my favor, since I work online. One of my main goals for the show was to get more followers on social media, and get my name out in the community. So far, I haven’t noticed any action on social media and haven’t had any outreach on my website/email.

From a business perspective this was not a very fruitful event, but I am still glad I did it. It was a big step outside of my comfort zone to meet new people in person and to advertise myself as a “spiritual” person lol, which I’ve kept to my private circles. I don’t know if I’ll do it again next year, but my town has a lot of different farmer/art market type events that I plan on taking part in. All in all it was a great learning experience.
