I’m hoping to learn some organizational tricks from those that have been doing this work for some time. I am someone who is highly organized and dnt function well unless I’m feeling organized and in control of my immediate enviornment, especially with work. I’ve started a binder that I use in my sessions and it is seperated with subject tabs. One tab relates to the interview, another is Delores tradiional induction, others might be other scripts and yet others might be more meditation specific. Their is a lot of great information and many varying resources used depending on who I am working with. I feel like it will be “clumsy” though, flipping thorugh my binder to find the perfect script or resource needed at any given time. I also cringe whenever I hear the sound of the papers being turned over as someone is in the midst of their session. Feels disrespectful to a certian degree. So, if their are any other organizational freaks out there like me that has developed a syatem, I would LOVE to hear it! Thank you!!!!!

Hello Christine, i put the notes into an ipad so there’s no noise. There was a thread before about this. Many practitioners use kindles.

You can have all the documents silently at your fingertips without letting them know you’re searching for infomation. I use my kindle app to store all of my documents. Since the app is also on my phone, my documents are always with me.

Hi Christine, there are a lot of great ideas here… but if you want to keep your binder – I have all of my scripts in page protectors so they don’t make any noise as I flip through them. They are in a 16 font so easy to read in low light, with the title in the header, and pages numbered, so I don’t lose track of where I am. I usually anticipate what I will need and have them near the top. But if they are further down, it is silent as I flip through them. I also open the binder and keep it open during the session so I can pull pages out without making noise.

Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas – I truly appreciate it! My sheets are currently in page protectors as well but when turning, I can still hear the noise. I’m likely over sensitive to it since I’m paying it too much attention 🙂

This is a temporary issue – eventually, you’ll remember the main script and will not need the text, and all other scripts you can just improvise. As long as you know what the script is about – you can just make up words, try to keep the rhythm if it is an induction script, like singing or chanting.

Hey Christine, I think you are right about ‘paying it too much attention’. I can also hear the noise even thought my notes are in protector thingy. No one complained about it but I changed to using ipad. Maybe just all in my mind!

@Christine_Shanesy and @Stephanie_Shek if you would hear the background noise that my recorder picked up from the noisy neighbors upstairs during my last night session you wouldn’t think twice about a little rustling of papers. Once there were Forth of July fireworks going off outside on the street and I was amazed that the client didn’t flinch.
