Length, structure and pricing of sessions
Hi everyone,
I have been slowly doing sessions over the past 1-2 years, following the timing of my own journey. However, I have lately been feeling a bit unsettled by a couple of things. The length of my sessions and the time I spend with clients can vary quite a lot. Sometimes the interview portion seems to need a lot of time (sometimes there can be a lot of understanding and healing with that portion alone). This portion can take anywhere between 1-2.5+ hours. Secondly, I don’t rush the sessions themselves too much, and try to allow them to unfold as it is meant to, while also trying to address all or most of the client’s items. Overall, I can spend anywhere from 4-9+ hours for a session. Although I love this work immensely, spending 9+ hours can be draining…
With that said, this feels a bit off and obviously pricing is challenging! Also, speaking with potential clients about pricing can be a challenge given that the length of time can vary, and I try to explain this. I have felt out or intuitively found a price point where I think things could balance out in an ok way (likely still lower than it should be), but things still feel off.
I know that I do have some personal things to work out internally regarding abundance, worth, etc (a work in progress! Any advice on that would be appreciated as well!). But I am wondering how and if you structure your sessions and how strict you are with this. Also, do you price your sessions with one price or something else, like per hour, a sliding scale, or a suggested amount? It would be helpful to know how you do this and how you find it works for you and your clients. Of course, everyone will be different with this and I do love letting things flow, but when it comes to pricing, this is where things mainly feel off.
Perhaps this is a topic for a separate post on it’s own, but I am also considering doing shorter, more structured sessions at a cheaper price point (not sure how I would go about this yet! It also doesn’t feel completely me as I love the flowy aspect – my background is engineering and I have been wanting to get away from too much structure!). And then ones that have a higher price where I am more free to let sessions last however long seems best.
Phew! I realize there is a lot there to unpack! But any advice or sharing of how you handle these things would be hugely appreciated! :u+2764: :d
With much love, gratitude, and joy!
Carly
