    Hello Dearest!

I have a quick question about Liability insurance that would cover Quantum hypnosis, energy healing, intuitive counseling services.  I was recommended a BodyWork insurance, and it looked good and reasonable price, however, they don’t cover any hypnosis services (!), only Reiki, and such. I also checked HISCOX insurance, and it also looked good, and reasonable premiums although it didn’t specify what kind of business they do cover and what they don’t – the agent on the phone hasn’t even heard about alternative holistic services like hypnosis or energy healing. She said they’re mostly cosmetology but the business type didn’t matter… So, here’s the question: have you guys heard/insured with HISCOX and if yes what type of policy, like general liability or professional, etc? Also, if you can recommend other good liability insurances for small businesses that you’re insured with or known of someone who is, would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Irene,

Most insurance companies that cover our space offer policies under a list of approved modalities. We engaged with HTPA (commonly known as Healing Touch) and IICT (based out of Australia but covers a lot of the world, including US) years ago to get BQH approved, which they have, but when you go there you’ll see that there are many, many other approved methods so it’s like that they’ll be able to cover what you need.  Candace maintains policies at both so that we can up on their practices for our members.

Based on how you asked your question above it sounds like you’re very aware but I’ll state for other members, these companies above cover your modality work, they do not cover ‘trip and fall’ kind of issues. For that, typically your home or rental insurance will cover that.

    Kind regards,

    Tom

    Irene,

I use the Energy Medicine Professional Association  (EMPA) – liability insurance for energy healers and holistic practitioners. They cover many healing modalities.

Call me if you have any questions.

    Hi Tom,

Looks like HTPA & EMPA are under the same umbrella. Both insurances have the same office address.
