Modes of Payments

Hello everyone!
Just taking an informal survey but what do you use for modes of payments? Tena and I use PayPal and Venmo. How do you deal with the fees? Sometimes our clients pay for the service and include the PayPal fees and sometimes they reverse this mode and pay the amount and leave us with the service fees. For the most part, most of our clients have paid our fees. There isn’t much consistency.
What are your experiences?
Thank you!Chrysilla Lewies replied 5 years, 6 months ago 6 Members · 5 Replies -

I accept paypal, zelle as well as all credit cards via Stripe. When they use paypal, I just ask them to pls send it to me via friends/family so I don’t get hit with the fees. If they forget or just don’t, that’s life and the cost of doing business 😉

I know that my answer is VERY non 3D. So much so, that I expect it to be totally ignored. Gary Craig gave away a process that he called “Affirmations and Tail Enders.” in his “From EFT To The Palace Of Possibilities” workshop. It’s rather simple, but it does take a little time. For me it was about 1/2 hour a day for three weeks. For Marian Mills it was two weeks and I suspect about 45 minutes to an hour a day.
I do not charge as I used the “Affirmations and Tail Enders.” process to manifest financial comfort. That saves me a lot of hassle and stress re money and payments. Several times after Marian and I did this I did a search and found no one else doing this process the way that she and I did. I later did a recorded class on this process and the students all said that they understood and would contact me if and when they had any problems.
Months later I asked them how are they doing with their affirmations. The response was “HUH?” They had completely forgotten! I’m now thinking that it was way too far out of the 3D box for them to follow through. -
I do not do Venmo because I have no financial services on the phone, so PayPal only, and I tell them in the email that I prefer if they pay as friends – to avoid charges on my side (but it is up to them, I do not chase them if they pay as a business, but it is costing me a lot of money if they do this – plus they can just ask PayPal for all the money back for 3 months with no explanation if they pay me for a service, which I am not happy about. I do refund some part of the fee if the session was so-so, and I referred them to a psychic – if they were really hard to hypnotize – this is very rare, maybe 1 client out of 30, and most agree to another session for free. But I had a client before who demanded all the money back on PayPal. it was after an in-person session, a very long, great session, she just had no cash on her – 2 months later she filed for a refund with no explanation, but I told her to pay me as a friend, so she could not pull this trick off. Remember that if they pay you as a business – they have 3 months to ask for a refund, and not much you can do about it. I might start taking Square after New Year, but it will be more expensive if they want to use it. Right now the only way to avoid charges on your side is ‘friends and family” on PayPal, plus it protects you from clients filing for refunds, you can do a refund also as a friend, without ‘red flags” for PayPal, they start watching your account when you get refund claims. But you can only do it if they really know you well from social media, exchanging emails, etc – otherwise, they can get scared of scams. I had a couple of clients before whom were scared of scams – I just tell them ‘Let’s have a session and you pay me later” – they all end up paying with a tip. But if I start getting more online clients – I will just raise prices and start taking credit cards, make it more business-like…

Unless a client pays cash, in person, or mails you a check, it’s hard (impossible, probably) to avoid fees. Will and I price accordingly and just absorb the fee. We use Square (in person and through our website) and Venmo primarily. Sometimes CashApp or Paypal. Square allows the money to go directly into our checking acct. Otherwise, you have to figure that out – ie, get a Paypal card in order to access the money. The only time the fees get on my nerves is when we facilitate events in our space. We collect the payments ahead of time for the guest practitioner, but when clients cancel and we have to refund, we are hit two times. We have discussed putting a clause in our information stating that refunds will have a fee deducted, but we haven’t done it yet :#

I use Paypal, but I have noticed that fees are ever increasing. To avoid fees, clients can do direct bank transfers, but working internationally with clients far and wide that may bring it’s own set of challenges.
