Hi. This message is for those practitioners who rent an office space for their practice versus hosting clients in their home for hypnosis sessions.

I was recently guided by spirit to reach out to my naturopathic doctor to ask her if she has a room for rent for my own practice, which she does. To this instruction from my guides, I was surprised as I only have an average of 1 client per week and am nowhere near doing enough sessions to pay for a rented space. BUT…I trusted “them” and met with her today and wow, what I saw was a complete surprise.

I havent seen her in the last year, as my general health has been pretty good, aside from a bout of bronchitis over the summer…but I digress. The last time I was in to see her, she was kind of a one-person show in a new office park and had 3 extra rooms in her building that weren’t being used. But when I walked in today, she now has a receptionist in the front waiting area and now a partner that she has purchased her office space with and now they are opening up two more offices in the same park that they will be renting space. So, she has grown quite a lot in 1 year.

The office is just lovely, albeit small, but adequate for my needs. She has a client that is currently moving out of the space that I would be renting, so the timing is perfect. When I explained how I came to the decision to contact her because of being spiritually guided to do so and her response was that she immediately thought of me when she received notice that her current tenant was moving out. So, there is definitely some synchronicity happening here.

But here’s the rub…the rental space cost is $650 per month with a 6 month contract. Seeing as my average income per month is around $1,100 per month, this is just not cost effective for me. NOW…I do realize that I will pick up more clients by being there in that space, but…that’s a big reach and I have no idea how long that would take to happen. AND, what about those summer months when my practice slows down?

I do have a perfect set up currently at my home as I have a separate mother-in-law suite that is functioning as my practice office and…it’s free!
Just looking for some guidance from those who have made the leap to an actual space to see if you can provide some guidance on how it changed your practice. Thank you!

    What does the space include?

The receptionist taking your calls/Scheduling? That would be quite a service….!

Will you have automatic referrals or ways to reach out to the other clientele with signs or pamphlets etc?

If it is JUST a room, it must be a super nice room for that price…unless its in a ritzy neighborhood….what are the rules? M-F only? Anytime? Parking?

Do you need to bring your own furniture? Is there room for a recliner or bed? (I personally still dislike massage tables for sessions)

How about restroom access? What if your client is in a trance and needs to go mid-session, is it a single powder room? Men-Women restrooms? Stalls? What would other clients think about you guiding your client to a restroom mid trance?

What about clients (of yours) who might cry or release or carry on in a scene? How would that go down?

What’s the noise level? Can you hear phones ringing, traffic, other patients in adjacent rooms?

Is internet included? Your own phone? Natural light for zoom or other online activities?

Do you need renter’s insurance or liability insurance?

I worked out of my home for many years until I was tired of cleaning before each session and figuring out where to put my husband (ha) and pets so they would be out of the way. I had a loft office space in the downtown area for a while, but the shared bathroom was a deal breaker for me in the end, plus the drive was so far for mostly out of town clients anyway~

I also found a very nice space, large enough for groups, and closer to my home, that included electricity and water (but no phone or internet) but I needed to increase my rates to make it work out financially, but by then I was more than ready to do so.

The biggest issues for me were the no private restroom available and the noise levels in the first rented space. I’m still in a shared building and there can be noise…but the hairdresser moved out from next door, thank GOODNESS—- and except for basic city type noises, it is mostly quiet. I still use headphones with my in-person clients though.

Its a big step to lease a space and quite the financial investment. My new place is 600 square feet and my clients are very comfortable and happy when I open the door, and I love walking in to my own created space and not having to share anything and having no one else’s rules or schedules to follow.

I’m very happy to keep our home private and to not have to clean before every single session – but interestingly enough now with BQH I am finding I am doing more online sessions than in-person sessions anyway and sometimes I still work from home, depending on my internet speed of the day or noise level at home.

Hope some of these thoughts help!

    🙂

Oh my gosh, @Candace_CrawGoldman. You have raised so many valid points that I had not considered…primarily the bathroom issue and for clients who get emotionally loud during the session. This is the thing I value most about our community…the amazing advice of others who’ve paved the way. Thank you, thank you!

I would not pay so much if I only had 1 client a week and had a nice space in the house… If she could rent it to you by an hour – that would be better, but with this caseload, it does not seem like a necessity. By the way, if she was thinking about you when looking for renters – you could just pick up her telepathic message…But maybe in the future, you could rent from her, and you could trade referrals for now. Maybe the whole guidance was to reconnect you and her as this relationship could be mutually beneficial.

My husband and I decided to buy a condo two doors down from us as a rental property, as a way to “lock up” our savings and earn a return on our investment. However, the condo community will not allow us to rent it out for a year after buying it. So, I have a dedicated space for a year that costs around $800/mo (HOA, property taxes, ins, utilities).
I am using the condo now for my sessions, and love it that there is no clutter, I have my crystals everywhere, the vibration is clean and clear, and no interruptions. I like to just go in there and meditate. I am making enough income doing sessions that more than pays for the fixed costs, so we are thinking now about using the condo for sessions instead of renting it out. This will yield a 2% rate of return, which isn’t much but it is similar to what we would get if we just left our money in a savings account. Being retired has its benefits, we have a fixed income and can afford to do things like this. But the energetic rate of return is huge, Because it is a dedicated space for spiritual work, the vibration is always high and everyone who enters the space immediately relaxes and attunes to the higher energy (including me). I believe this higher energy is broadcasting out to the planet and beyond.
so my advice is, if you have a space at home that you can use, make it a sacred space and don’t use it for anything else. Don’t use it for overnight guests (unless you want to AirBNB it to pay for the office space), don’t use it to watch TV. Only use it for your spiritual work and keep the vibration high.Blessings to you and your work. ❤️

My take on this is very different…
I’ve been involved in startups and revamping small businesses and organizations for over 20 years…
You said that you were guided and that the owner thought of you also. To me this is king and I’ll tell you why.
Currently I’m in Israel. Actually I was guided to travel to somewhere else but I couldn’t wrap my brain around it to make sense so my guides came up with Israel as a stepping stone. I’ve been there before and wanted to one day go back again.
So I said to myself, other people travel and do sessions and cover their expenses so why not me. I put up on the two QHHT practitioners listings that i was planning to make a trip to Israel and got a few contacts. So I thought that even if I don’t cover my expenses fully it will be worth it.
Once I made the commitment, booked a ticket there and arranged airbnbs to stay in everything took off. A few sessions became 13 before I left. I extended the original three weeks to 6 and was doing 4-5 sessions a week.
If you’re guided, Go For It! Just tell your guides that you expect them to take care of all the details including enough clients to make it more than worth your while.
    Blessings,
    Malka

Hello Catherine, I don’t have office space so have nothing to share regarding that. I think everything is possible and like Malka said above, you might be getting a lot of clients!

If, you don’t actually want to take this step and find that it’s so weird to have this guidance… it depends how your guides guide you… my guidance sometimes comes in yo-yo form because of the limitations of my imagination, also because i refuse to do things sometimes. For example, yesterday i woke up after dreaming of having a really nice coffee. So when i woke up i decided to join my husband to go to his meeting which was next to his friend’s shop and i could have coffee while hanging out in that shop. So when i was there i realized that ‘they’ wanted me to clear up the yucky energy there. If ‘they’ had told me this straight i wouldn’t have gone. I love staying at home. I did have a really good coffee and had a nice time there. There were times i noticed that i had to meet certain people just so our aura meets and for absolutely nothing else…you could always ask your guides to give you a much clearer sign and I’m sure they will comply. Best wishes to whatever your decision may be.

@Malka_Ahern…thank you for pointing out that my post was “111”. Ironically, I’m one of those people who never see that number sequence. Mine have been different number sets. I guess now I have to actually look up what this means! :p

Dearest Catherine, a great question. I work out of my home and I also rent a space on a day basis at a large birthing centre that also rents out extra rooms. I share space with a Hypnotheraphist and a Reiki Master. I can have two days a week if I want. I pay $60.00/ day. My friend who owns the birthing centre charges me for the days I use it. It is one room with a private bathroom at the very back of the centre. It is quiet as there is a a door that closes off between the main area of the centre and the session room. In the room is a massage table and also a recliner, love seat, huge closet to put your extra things away, a small desk and chair and filing cabinet. It is beautifully decorated, with a huge picture of a new born baby on the wall. I bring crystals and have brought a Hymalain salt rock. I bring extra blankets and pillows. It has worked really well for me. I love the space. I was a little nervous for my male clients, but they also love the space-and are really relaxed in it.
Like everyone stated, follow your guides, you will be lead to what is right for you. Lovelight and blessings to you. ❤️??

Great advice here. Than you all for that and thank you, @Catherine_Wyatt for the post.
I work out of my home and sometimes from client’s places. I had an opportunity to rent a place, quite cheap and spacious for California real estate. However, it was not working for me. The building would be locked at 9 pm everyday and Sunday close. So not working for me as my weekday sessions can go longer than 9 pm and I have sessions on Sundays too. Also, the bathroom was not private to the room.
