Your profile photo, does it ACTUALLY look like you?? It should.
So this just happened. Someone sent me an email newsletter from a alternative healing practitioner.
This person is NOT on our Forum. The profile photo on this newsletter looks nothing like the person does in real life. It is heavily photoshopped to make the person look much younger, thinner, etc. I am sure this person likes and approves of the photo (otherwise why use it, right?)
In my OPINION- This is a huge problem for this person and others who choose to present photos that do not reflect physical reality and here is why:
- Anyone who sees videos of the person will see what they really look like- This is an energetic DISCONNECT
- Anyone who sees this person in real life will see what they really look like again another disconnect
- Savvy energy readers will see that the energy put out by the practitioner could be read this way: They are trying to be someone they are not or they don’t like themselves or they are not in an energy of transparency!
- Another way of looking at unrealistic photos: What is the person trying to hide? Is this the kind of energy you want to transmit to your potential clients? Believe me people will see what you really look like eventually.
In a world of photoshop and as a former professional portrait photographer I have been on the both sides of the camera and I understand where you as a practitioner are coming from. It is possible to take a photo, a realistic photo that is flattering to ANYONE. I promise! No matter how old you are, no matter how much you weigh. No matter if you wear glasses…..
I suggest you take a peek at your own profile photos. Ask yourself these questions-
Is it a current photo? If a client saw THAT photo and then I opened the door to my office and the client took a look at me would the photo match my face?
Has it been years or DECADES even since you changed your photo? I suggest you get an updated one. I try to do a new one every year or so. Selfies are fine and free and you can take hundreds until you like one but better yet spring for a professional photo. So many talented photographers are hungry for the opportunity to take great photos! I bet you even have friends who can assist if the idea of spending any money is out of the question.
I have used- often- the timer on a camera myself~
This subject is one that is very near and dear to my heart. I was an artist and photographer LONG before I started this healing work. I have been image making for 5 decades or more.
I am happy to (privately) honestly but very gently critique your chosen profile photo— NO CHARGE!!! IF you would like.
There are some of you who are not getting client inquiries based upon your photo alone. Guaranteed.
Submitted with LOVE and wanting you all to BE SEEN in the best and most beautiful light,,,,
