The Split Is Real: Why Normal Conversations Feel Impossible Now
About a week before my dad died, he woke up really laughing – just belly laughing at a dream he just woke up from. This was huge because the dementia had pretty much taken his ability to share dreams away from us.
But that morning, completely lucid, tears streaming down his face from laughing so hard, and when I asked him if he could tell me about his dream he said: “ Well there’s good news and bad news in the dream the bad news is the world is going to end. But the good news is… it just doesn’t matter. And he kept that grin on his face for quite a while.”
Five days later, he was gone.
I think about that dream when I’m having conversations like the one in this video. Will and Allison just got back from Egypt, belly laughing on camels at the Giza Plateau. Diana and Donna called in from Mexico. And we’re all navigating this strange split that seems to be happening – between people focused on which football team won what game, who cares about celebrity marriages and people exploring Inner Earth tunnel systems under the pyramids. Diana voices it perfectly, “Maybe THAT is the split!”
It’s not that we dislike the people having “normal” conversations. It’s that when you’ve seen what’s possible in consciousness exploration, when you’ve done the work, when you know what you know… going back to surface-level chat becomes almost unbearable.
One of the things we talked about that struck me hardest was disclosure. People keep waiting for the government to tell them about UFOs. You’re wasting your time. It’s not coming from any three-letter agency. The disclosure is happening within each one of us. We’re the decoders of the information.
