‘Tell Her’ – A Guidance for Love to bloom

The Spirits are always present during a Sekhem treatment and often, they give guidance for the clients through the facilitator. When I say ‘The Spirits’, I mean the clients’ Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels, Higher Self and other ‘higher’ beings. Their view might be from high above but their guidance is always so easy to understand and down to earth that they could seem cryptic at first glance. This story is about one of my all-time favourite guidance that I think we can all benefit from.

When we first moved to Greece, a friend thought my healing practice could be an asset to her friends’ day spa and she set up a meeting for me with the owners. I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea because I was still taking my time to settle into a new country but I went because I always love telling people about Sekhem, which refers to both the energy and the healing system that were widely applied in Ancient Egypt.

My friend accompanied me to the day spa and shortly after we sat down at the reception area. a well-groomed woman came and greeted us warmly. They had a brief conversation in Greek before the woman excused herself. My friend informed me that she was one of the co-owners and her husband, the other owner, would be ready to meet with me soon.

Mrs. Owner wasn’t movie-star sort of beautiful but I found her very attractive and I couldn’t stop watching her. She not only seemed confidence and capable, she was graceful in her mannerism and she had the loveliest smile for everyone. It was a busy day for them and there were people waiting for their appointments, people asking for information and people who looked lost. Mrs. Owner went from customer to customer to find out their needs and she directed them to where they needed to go. Sometimes she would give her staff instructions for helping the customers and by the way her staff responded to her, I could tell they all loved her.

A young woman who spoke fluent English came and swooped me away from my friend for my meeting. She walked me into a spacious wood-panelled office. A well-groomed man stood up behind a large dark wood desk to greet me and then gestured for both of us to sit. Turned out the young woman was our interpreter. I only had a couple of years of experience then and I felt flattered that they went to this much trouble for me.

Mr. Owner felt to me confident and capable like Mrs. Owner and he was lovely in the way he spoke to me. He was curious and respectful and I didn’t feel like I was in a job interview. I felt like I was an expert being interviewed for my knowledge.

What a great match – I thought – and I swooned inside. Romantic love is my favourite thing to witness and I felt Mr. and Mrs. Owner were deeply in love.

Wait… there was something missing and I didn’t know what, nor did I try to understand it. I was busy being interviewed. You see, on a few occasions, when people find out about my job, they thought I was reading them or they asked me to read them and I was like, I never do that! At least, I never try to. We all get a feeling about people we meet and I am sensitive to these fleeting feelings that sometimes come back when there is relevance.

It wasn’t easy to get Mr. Owner to understand how Sekhem worked because he had never heard of energy healing. He became pensive after I answered many of his questions, as if trying make sense of what I had said. I didn’t think I could help him with more words so I asked Mr. Owner if he would be interested in receiving a Sekhem treatment from me.

‘Now?’ Asked Mr. Owner who seemed taken aback.

I wasn’t thinking about timing when I offered but ‘Sure! If you are free?’

Oh! He was! He told his assistant to rearrange his day and off we went to the massage quarter.

We probably got the nicest room thanks to Mr. Owner’s status there. Like many others who are new to Sekhem or energy healing in general, he asked if he needed to take off his clothes (‘No!!! Please! No!’) and he thought he should lie on his front on the massage table (‘On your back like you are taking a nap.’) I guess before their experiencing it first hand, the closest thing they relate energy healing to is massage therapy.

The simplest way I explain what Sekhem does is that we were created perfect, whole and healthy as we are all divine creations. Just take a look at how amazing our bodies are, e.g., our eyes can zoom in and out and they function better than the latest and most expensive camera lenses, or how miraculous our circulatory system is, from the heart that never stops working even when we are heart-broken, to the intricate network of blood vessels. The reason why such an intelligent body cannot maintain full health and vibrancy is that we have a variety of stresses, from our environment, our restrictive beliefs, detrimental thoughts, uncomfortable emotions and our disconnection with the divine.

Sekhem is of the vibration of love and compassion. When a Sekhem facilitator places their hands on or above a client’s body, Sekhem flows to wherever is needed in the client’s body, just like how water would automatically fill any indented surface. Sekhem destroys what is not needed and assists the body to go back into balance and towards alignment with their divine self.

Usually, I would have a little chat with my client about what they want out of the session and to determine the intention for the treatment. Since Mr. Owner had limited time, I suggested that we kept the intention open for whatever was needed for him and he agreed.

Sekhem is facilitated in silence. For the next 40 minutes or so, Mr. Owner rested on the massage table and made gentle snoring sound occasionally, our interpreter sat with a dreamy look, while I let myself wide open for the Sekhem energy and guidance to come through.

There was one and only one piece of guidance – ‘Tell her, whenever you notice something about your wife, or something she does, that you like and tell her as soon as possible when it happens.’

I was confused for a moment but then a vision came in which Mr. Owner was watching Mrs. Owner, just like how I was at the reception area, but instead of feeling utmost admiration, he was feeling insecure. Ah – that was what I felt was missing – his confidence.

When the treatment was completed, I silently asked God to look after Mr. Owner and his issues as a way to detach myself. I also thanked the Spirits and Mr. Owner’s consciousness in silence. This is always my favourite part of the session, not only because the job is done, but that gratitude always free-flows naturally and it is such an amazing feeling.

‘I have a message for you but it’s a little bit private. Do you mind if I tell you with the interpreter’s help?’ I turned to the interpreter and continued, ‘Everything that is said here is confidential and you will not repeat to anyone, is this okay?’ I thought I’d better made sure since she wasn’t a professional interpreter but a stand-in one just for today.

‘Of course! Yes!’ She promised and she told Mr. Owner her promise too.

Mr. Owner considered what was said and replied, ‘I would say I don’t mind now but we will see.’

The interpreter’s face turned red as soon as I told her.

Mr. Owner smiled at the message and said, ‘But she never does anything right.’

‘This is a joke, yes?’ I asked Mr. Owner.

‘Yes. A joke.’ Said Mr. Owner.

‘You will tell her, yes?’ I wanted to make sure.

‘Yes, I will.’ Mr. Owner smiled.

Mrs. Owner came to my vision and I felt her heart bloomed. So the guidance wasn’t just for Mr. Owner’s wellness but for Mrs. Owner, too, and their union.

Can you feel it too? That lovey dovey feeling? Can you see how love can bloom just by giving and receiving a compliment which is basically telling the truth about what we see that we like? Would you do it, too? Would you tell them when you notice something about your partner, family members and friends or something they do that you like and tell them as soon as it happens?
