Why A Sense Of Safety Is Key

Why a Sense of Safety is Key

Beyond Quantum Healing

By Christina Lavers

I feel one of, if not, the most important things I can offer a client is a sense of safety. Safety is foundational. It is the key that opens us to profound states that allow for healing, release and transformation. When we are afraid, we tense up, defend and contract, whereas when we feel safe, we open, relax, expand, and flow. It is in this open, flowing space that deep transformation can occur.

There are many ways that I foster a sense of safety when facilitating a session.

The first aspect on which I focus is creating connection (rapport) with the person with whom I am working. Taking a few minutes to connect to my heart before a session is a powerful way to ensure my energy is open, loving, and non-judgemental. Our hearts know that beneath any wounds or armour, every person is a divinely beautiful soul. I honestly have never met a client I didn’t thoroughly enjoy connecting with. When we feel seen and understood we are more inclined to feel safe enough to operate from a more authentic version of self. Part of being real is being willing to share vulnerabilities and this opens us to deep and meaningful healing. This will only happen if the client feels safe.

One of the central messages I want clients to understand when they work with me is that I will never push them, or encourage them to do something that doesn’t feel safe or right for them. Some people believe the old ‘no pain, no gain’ idea, and want to force deep-level change, but when we feel pushed to do something that does not feel safe, our system will naturally contract and resist change. Healing occurs when we feel open, and we only open when we feel safe.

Candace Craw-Goldman teaches practitioners in her BQH course that if a client experiences a part of their journey that frightens them, it is important to let them know that they don’t have to endure anything that feels too much. If something feels overwhelming to the client the practitioner should invite them to either step out of the body point of awareness and observe from above, or to exit the scene completely and move to a new more peaceful one.  It is interesting to note that while I always explain this to clients as it helps build a sense of safety and trust in the process, I have never needed to alter the course of a journey. I believe because the journeys are orchestrated by higher energies, including the person’s higher self, the journeys are always deeply aligned with a person’s heart and so naturally honour a person’s sense of safety.

This segways nicely to another important tool in creating conditions that feel safe: working with the person’s spiritual team. A spiritual team will mean different things to different people.  For some it might include their guardian angels, ancestors, soul family, galactic family, angels, specific gods, and goddesses, and possibly even the higher selves of living people. I find it useful to discuss with each client what their spiritual team means to them. Because these sessions often enter realms that we do not normally access in daily life, having a strong sense of support at this level can do so much to encourage a sense of safety.

Finally, it is, of course, important to ensure physical concerns are addressed as well. Ensuring each client is comfortable, their body is supported, and they are warm enough, allows the client to see their wellbeing is important and so all contribute to fostering a sense of safety.

Witnessing the magic that happens when a person feels safe enough to open and drop to the levels where deep healing occurs is such an incredible honour.
